Help with the cost of childcare
Here are some options that may help with the cost of child care at First Friends Village Nursery. Read on to learn about the available schemes.
NHS EMPLOYEES GET 5% DISCOUNT
NEW Funding schemes for working families
For children 9 month and older
Working families who qualify can access funded child care for children aged 9 months and older. We offer the governments ‘stretch’ scheme, allowing you to spread your funded hours over 51 weeks per year, providing 11 hours of childcare each week.
Application timing and process
Your child can begin their child care placement the term after they become eligible and receive a valid eligibility code. Term start dates are 1st September, 1st January, and 1st April.
Funding schemes for 2-year old children
Eligibility criteria
You may be entitled to funding worth £3,189 a year!
You may be entitled to funding. You will qualify if one parent or carer is receiving one of the following:
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) Universal Credit
- Tax credits and has an annual income of under £16,190 before tax
- The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit support through part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act
- The Working Tax Credit 4-week run on
Or a 2-year-old can also get free early education and child care if any of the following apply:
- They are looked after by a local authority
- They have a current statement of special educational needs (SEN) or an education, health and care (EHC) plan
- They get Disability Living Allowance
- They’ve left care under a special guardianship order; child arrangements order or adoption order.
Funding schemes for 3-4 year old children
Everyone is Eligible
You are entitled to funding worth £6,378 a year!
All families with a 3-and 4-year-old child are eligible for the universal funding offer of up to 15 hours a week term-time or 11 hours a week taken throughout the year.
A child becomes eligible for the funding the term after their 3rd birthday.
Extended Hours (30 hours funding)
A further 15 hours is offered to working families for 3-and 4-year-olds. You will need to check if you are eligible, but parents can usually get 30 hours childcare if you (and your partner, if you have one) are in work and each are earning at least the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage for 16 hours a week and earn less than £100,000 per annum.
Application timing and process
Your child can begin their childcare placement the term after they become eligible and receive a valid eligibility code. Term start dates are 1st September, 1st January, and 1st April. Your code will be an 11-digit code, which you will need to pass onto us. You can register with us before receiving your code.
Other funding schemes available
Accepted by First Friends
Tax Free Childcare
Parents can pay fees through a Tax-Free Childcare account if they are eligible. For every £8 you pay in, the government will add an extra £2.00. Up to £2,000 per child per year, which is up to £500 every three months.
Childcare Vouchers
We’re happy to accept child care vouchers from employers who offer this benefit to their employees. Vouchers are non-taxable and exempt from NI contributions for employees, whilst offering NI savings for employers. Both parents are eligible to claim as long as they’re both in employment
Sibling Discount
If you already have a child at our nursery or if you’re registering a place for more than one child, we offer a 5% discount off your oldest child’s nursery fees when their younger sibling starts.
Our EY Number
We are often asked for our EY number, which is our 'Early Years' registration number issued by Ofsted. Our EY number is: EY 399 193. You may need this for your funding applications.
5% discount on nursery fees
As a thank you to our NHS heroes, we are pleased to offer a 5% discount on nursery fees for NHS employees. This exclusive discount is our way of supporting those who dedicate their careers to caring for others. Please read our T&Cs below.
Terms and Conditions for NHS Employee Discount
Eligibility: The 5% discount on nursery fees is available exclusively to employees of the National Health Service (NHS). Valid NHS identification must be presented during the initial settling-in sessions to qualify for this discount.
Discount Scope: This discount applies only to fees that are privately funded by the family. It cannot be applied to any fees covered by government funding, including but not limited to childcare vouchers, government childcare schemes, or funded hours.
Non-Combinable Discount: This 5% discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional discount. For instance, if a family is already receiving a 5% discount for enrolling a second sibling, they will not be eligible for an additional 5% NHS employee discount.
Application of Discount: The discount will be applied to the monthly fees starting from the first full month after the NHS identification is verified at the settling-in sessions.
Ongoing Verification: To continue receiving this discount, parents or guardians must notify the nursery of any change in their NHS employment status.
Modification of Terms: The nursery reserves the right to modify, withdraw, or amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
